2011 – Reg Braun
Morden is fortunate to have many generous volunteers, and the MAF is pleased to announce that Reg Braun is the recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Community Volunteer of the Year award. Reg has been a key volunteer for the Morden Corn & Apple Festival since 1999, doing everything from driving bobcats and accommodating entertainers in his home to chairing the Festival board and pioneering the role of Public Relations Director in 2012.
In addition to his work with the Festival, Reg has volunteered on the annual Cancer Society campaigns, Morden Marketing Team, Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre, Manitoba Homecoming 2010 committee, Manitoba Destination Mission, and the Morden District Chamber of Commerce. In 2011 he was named first runner up for the Pembina Valley Tourism Association Volunteer of the Year Award.
Reg and his wife, Allison, are the proud parents of two children, Carly and Chad. Reg owns a financial planning business, Braun Financial, and is an avid nature photographer whose work has been exhibited in the Pembina Hills Regional Art Gallery in Morden.
As part of this recognition, Reg was invited to grant $1,000 to the charity of his choice. His grant will be going to the Morden Enrichment Corporation.
