This bursary provides a financial award to a person entering or returning to full time post-secondary studies in the healthcare field or who is registering for additional professional accreditation that will further their career in healthcare.
The value of the bursary may be up to $2500 and will be paid directly to the educational institution.
For the purposes of this bursary, “healthcare field” is broadly defined and includes, but is not limited to:
- nursing (registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, nursing assistant),
- physio- and occupational therapy
- obstetrics
- respiratory
- cancer care
- public health
- radiology technicians
- pharmacy
- medical records
- doctor of medicine, dentistry or optometry,
To be eligible for the Learn and Return Healthcare Bursary, applicants must be:
- A resident of the Boundary Trails Health Centre catchment area (Morden, Winkler, RM Stanley, Plum Coulee, RM Rhineland, Roland, RM Thompson, RM Pembina)
- Individuals whose intention is to continue their employment or seek employment in the healthcare field in the City of Morden or at the Boundary Trails Health Care Centre.
- Enrolling in a degree or diploma program through a recognized post-secondary institution in Manitoba or enrolling in a professional accreditation course offered through a recognized educational institution.
